THE POWER OF A SMILE

Picture
My goal as an artist is to make you smile or maybe even laugh out loud.  I think the world gets better every time we smile and laugh.  My critters have the mission to improve the world one smile and laugh at a time.  Enjoy.

Metalworking Seminar
This focused hands on workshop will give you the chance to work with a torch and welder to learn the principles of manipulating metal.  We'll cover safety, science, principles of melting metal, equipment, differences in metals and more.  Each class is limited to 2 students so you'll have a torch or welder in hand and have a finished piece from each session.  Two three hour sessions-first day is working with an oxy-acetylene torch for cutting and bending steel.  The second day will be hands on with a MIG welder.  No experience required-just the desire to learn.  classes are in my studio and whenever you want a class.  email to set your own workshop.

MIGHTY STEED
This big guy stands 6'6" to the top of his ears.  He's off to his own pasture near Alpharetta.  I'd love to create a horse or other mighty sculpture for you.

  BUG BAND
Big bugs playing musical instruments.  There are drummers, woodwinds, a brass section and the strings are well represented.  This musical group gives regular concerts by the pool in Sandy Springs.  Made of recycled, repurposed, reused junk from the garage or the back of the kitchen cabinets.  Let me make a performer for you.

STEEL GUITARS

Picture
These guitars are just right for an office wall, man cave or family room.  Or any wall you want to display them on.  Bold colors and unique design make these a special piece of art anywhere they are displayed.

Made of old filing cabinets, hinges, ceiling wire, tools, lock plates and other steel bits, this is unique wall art.

Gifts

Picture
Come see me at shows or email and I'll help find you unique fun gifts for everyone.
Each piece is different and quantities are limited.
I'll gladly ship for you.

Dancing Ants

wiggly bedsprings and bits of steel to make you smile

Picture
PSYCHO SUNFLOWERS have come to the garden.
These fun flowers are about three feet of
pleated steel mesh.  A minimum of 4 colors and fun center parts makes them PSYCHO and fun in the garden or home.  (Several have gone to grace the waiting room of a Women's health clinic and local living rooms.)

Picture
Raku Rose These candleholders are ceramic and recycled steel combined.  The shades are Raku ceramic-an ancient Japanese technique.  The pieces are dipped in a glaze containing copper then heated quickly to 1850 degrees.  While throbbingly red hot I pick them up with fireplace tongs and place in a pan filled with shredded newspaper.  Of course it bursts into flame!!  The lid is put on and the goal is to sustain the fire long enough to exhaust the oxygen in the container and pull the oxygen from the glaze to create the shine and color.  Just up my alley--fire, heat and open flames for art.

Many of  the critters and sculptures ahead are still available to good homes.
Ready to make you or a friend smile.

And there are lots more not pictured.   If you don't see something you remember from a show, check with me.  I just might have another!

Lynn's Gates

Picture
Before the fence was finished, a Great Blue Heron landed on the rail to look over the pool.  She became the inspiration for the bicycle heron perched on one of the gates around this pool in East Cobb.
Another Heron stands tall as a weathervane on the roof.

Lissy's Gate

Picture
Lissy is a 2 year old Lab and she likes to run.  We installed these gates and the chicken guards to keep her home.  Old garden tools enhance the gates and the chickens too.

LOTS MORE PICTURES AHEAD.
Many of the critters and sculptures on the following pages have already gone to good homes.  If you see something you love, email and I'll check his address. He may still live here.  And I always have new critters in the making on my work table.  So almost anyone could be made for you.
